We at Verve on Third want to promote all of our artists, but since we represent over 150 creative, talented people, we want to focus for the next few months on the concept of peace. The peace the artist feels creating their work, the peace the customer feels in our store and then at home or work with the art they have purchased, and last but most importantly we pray for peace in the world. Stop in the gallery & receive a token of our promotion of peace. Don't forget, we are in our new location at 227 S. Third Street. |

| Join us for an evening of art and conversation Friday, March 5th, 6- 9 pm. Showcased works by Jerry Strub. Jerry is a life-taught artist who shares time in two studios, ... one in Lisle, IL and the other in Union Pier, MI. Though considered a fairly reclusive artist, Jerry's work is owned by collectors from Los Angeles, to Boston, to Europe with numerous showings in the Midwest. My goal is to create emotionally charged layers of textures utilizing mainly acrylics and various forms of mixed media such as pumice and gel mediums. I choose to use colors and images that are raw, spontaneous and stream of consciousness that reflect those doors of life that I have chosen to enter on occasion regardless of the “do not enter” signs. Francisco Goya, stated it best: “Imagination abandoned by reason produces impossible monsters; united with it; she is the mother of the arts and the source of it's marvels”. |

| I create images which portray the spirit and humanity of nature and thereby the nature of humanity and spirit. With my work I intend to capture a moment of magic either from the natural world or from an ancient legend or tale, and speak of the “secret” beauty and magic within simple everyday moments and objects. I strive to make each of my works a window. I think my best works give the viewer a feeling of this deeper magic being mirrored within themselves. |
| During the March 5th First Fridays Gallery Walk, Gallery 28 owner and artist Jan Schmuckal will be painting in the gallery in a RARE informal painting session. Stop by and say hello! Hecklers welcome! Don't forget to enter the drawing! |
