Phil Fung's art is a reflection of his life, which is filled with amazing people, extraordinary places and unique experiences. He is of Chinese Jamaican decent; raised in an intricate fusion of Asian, Caribbean and American culture. His many styles and use of various mediums are reflective of this diversity. His passion for traveling has brought him to all corners of the Earth and realizing with each stop, his love of life. From living the noisy French Quarter of New Orleans, finding fascination in the avenues of Shanghai, hailing the chief of the tribes of the Masai, dancing in the streets of Salvador and laughing off the roaring coast of Cape Town, Phil Fung has earned a wealth of the raw material for true art: Insight.
“As an artist, Color and form are complimentary. Form without color lacks emotion. Color without form lacks purpose. Together in my art I try to synthesize the two to share my lust for life in things seen and unseen. Color is the ultimate tool of expression. Form is the backbone of communication. In my art I strive to tell a universal emotional story regardless of background or epoch.” - Phil Fung
