Adam grew up in Ohio, and attended the Art Institute of
Philadelphia. He joined the Marines in the 1980’s, after which
he attended The School of Visual Arts and Pratt Manhattan. He
subsequently went abroad, where he found a job working in the
banana, avocado and date fields of Israel's Jordan Valley. He
also worked on a rural farm along the Mediterranean sea as a
dairy farmer. He met and married his wife Diana in Israel. In
1998 they moved back to Pittsburgh, starting their lives from
scratch.
Adam painted his memories of being abroad on huge
canvases, and landed his first show by walking into a local
gallery and rolling them out onto the floor. More shows
followed; Adam received favorable reviews in the press, and
life got better. He continues to paint works from memory, as
well as rural and urban plein air Pennsylvania landscapes.
Today, Adam is the father of two, and works as a full time fine
artist.
