Gallery 28 opens Scott Harding Show
with Wine Tasting
Gallery 28 and Gibby’s Wine Den collaborate in hosting an opening reception for fine
artist Scott Harding on Friday, July 27 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Gallery 28, located in the
North Historic District of downtown Geneva, at 28 North Fourth Street, 1 block north of Rt.
38/State Street.
The public is invited to meet nationally recognized artist Scott Harding, and view his
recent works while enjoying a sampling of fine wines from Gibby’s Wine Den in
Geneva. Harding has been included in the prestigious 2007 Oil Painters of America
National Show in Fredericksburg, TX, and in the 2007 American Impressionists Society’
s National Show in Chicago, IL.
Now residing in Warrenville, IL, Scott Harding was featured in the May 2006 issue of
American Art Collector Magazine. He has received “Best of Show” at the Oil Painters of
America Midwest Regional Show in 2003, and the “Nichols Taos Fine Art Gallery Award”
at the American Impressionist Society’s National Show in 2005. His work hangs in
corporate and private collections across America, and have been exhibited in numerous
galleries and highlighted in many shows, including several one-man shows. Harding
received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree through the Honors Painting Program at
Indiana
University, Bloomington in 1989, and began a professional career in illustration in
Chicago. Owning his own graphic arts business gave him the time and freedom to
exclusively pursue his fine art work.
Harding is fascinated with the effects of light on the world around us and marvels that a
moment in time, captured by color and composition, can strike an emotional chord. His
paintings reflect a wide range of subject matter, and his style is realistic, with an
impressionistic touch. Harding’s medium of
choice is oil; his works also include pencil, charcoal, watercolor, pastel and intaglio
painting. Each day Harding seizes the challenge of capturing his view of the world on
canvas – a timeless reminder of his passion for life. “The truth of the moment is what
I'm after," says Harding. “I hope it hits a chord with my collectors and allows them to feel
what I felt when I created the painting; that they see the grace of the figure, and are
touched by the moment the painting captures.”
Harding’s one-man show at Gallery 28 will run July 27 through
August 30th, 2007
